Manufacturing - Case study
Palm Equipment
Twenty years ago, Palm Equipment Europe Ltd approached AMA Business Systems for advice on how to improve their manual systems. With Palm expanding rapidly they purchased Pegasus Opera and as Palm continued to grow and improved their manufacturing processes, the Opera solution has changed and developed with them. Having upgraded to Pegasus Opera II with its excellent functionality and superb user interface, they find the software can deal with the everyday issues related to running a business.
Palm Equipment, based in the South West has grown from small beginnings in 1979 into a globally recognised leader in water sports equipment and apparel. Throughout this time the company philosophy has remained the same - to produce dedicated products that offer performance through innovative design.
Utilising the full range of modules available in Opera II, all of the company’s Sales, Invoicing, Despatch, Goods in, Purchasing, and other accounting functions are dealt with in an integrated way in one system. With better control, accurate stock tracking, the utilisation of picking lists and barcode scanning has enabled the company to take huge steps forward. Production planning and offshore ordering, as well as their management accounts process has benefited tremendously with the addition of the XRL reporting tool, enabling “live” information to be reported upon, directly from the Opera II software.
Bob Slee, a founding Director of Palm, explains “Opera II is an extremely good accounts software package. With the package getting more powerful, proper support is vital, which AMA always delivers – hence the reason I’ve stayed with them for so long.” |
