AMA iT Business Solutions: Pegasus Opera II 2, Sage 200, EPOS Tills

In December 1986, the Bristol office of Brikat Group PLC (the then owner of Pegasus) underwent a management buyout by Alastair Moir, Mary Clifford and Alan Pearce (AMA). AMA Business Systems Ltd was born, offering the same service as its predecessor in providing Pegasus Software based computer solutions with full installation, training and support.

In the early days, AMA operated from Baldwin Street in the centre of Bristol, but new premises were soon required as the rapidly growing business was running out of space, not to mention that the cost of parking tickets in Bristol city centre was by then exceeding the rent!!

April 1989, saw AMA move to Duckmoor Road, Ashton into spacious offices, workshop and parking!! In 1990 the company launched its hardware maintenance service.

In 1991, AMA were shown a Non-Pegasus product called Sequel Accounting Software, and we could not believe how good it was. AMA was the first UK dealer to sell this product, which is some claim to fame when you consider that only a couple of years later in 1993, Pegasus, obviously equally as impressed by Sequel, bought the company and its product, which they renamed Pegasus Opera!

The company continued to grow through the nineties with Sequel/Opera on board so that a further move to Vauxhall House, Coronation Road was required in 1999.

As technology developed, not only did we expand as a company, our product base also became larger. Adding additional accounting solutions by Exchequer and Internet access solutions like NetPilot - has helped us get to where we are now. In 2001 founder member Alan Pearce announced his retirement.

In October 2003, we said goodbye to our office in Coronation Road, to move into our new "Fully Owned" premises - The Old Tabernacle, Bedminster.

Since the mid eighties AMA has consistently been one of the top ten Pegasus resellers in the country. We continue to win "Regional Reseller of the Year" awards. One of our employees was awarded the "Pegasus Trainer of the Year" award. We are one of the prestigious PEGASUS GOLD ACREDITED PARTNERS.
